THANK A SOLDIER
www.AnySoldier.com
Want to send a care package to Any Soldier in Harm's Way,
but have no idea of what to send, who to send it to, or how to send it?
Sergeant Brian Horn from LaPlata, Maryland, an Army Infantry Soldier with the 173rd Airborne
Brigade in the Kirkuk area of Iraq started the idea of AnySoldier to help care for his soldiers. He agreed to
distribute packages that came to him with "Attn: Any Soldier" in his address to the soldiers who
are not getting mail. Brian is no longer in Iraq but AnySoldier.com continues.
AnySoldier.US started in August 2003 as a simple family effort to help the soldiers in one
Army unit. However, due to overwhelming requests, on 1 January 2004 their effort was expanded
to include ANY Soldier. They now include any member, of any of the Armed Services, in harms way.

You know who you are
I don't have to say your name
But I would like to thank you
For the sacrifice you made
A pair of combat boots
In a closet tucked away
Is all that you have left
For the price you had to pay
Once a Soldier, Always A Hero
Every man and woman
Who fought for Uncle Sam
Deserves a golden medal
And a pedestal on high
For those of you still living
And for those who had to die
Once a Soldier, Always A Hero
Yes I would like to thank you
From the bottom of my heart
I don't believe in war
But the war you didn't start
You only did your duty
Your patriotic call
America's true hero
And I thank you one and all

""For some reason we lament that the likes of
Townes and Clarke have never achieved a level of success befitting of their talents. But
it's probably fair to say that as we roll our eyes at the uneducated masses who have never
heard of either of them, we're as guilty for letting Brine pass us by." -- Carl
Anders, AltCountryTab.com
"I could listen to him sing
all night long
he does a good job that boy does."
-- Roy Acuff, Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree
"A fine young man who I think
has a great future."
-- Hank Snow,
Grand Ole Opry
"Brine could easily have been added to the cast of 'O
Brother, Where Art Thou' without raising an eyebrow. He belongs
to that group of artists whose individuality and quirkiness consign
them to the periphery of what's commercially viable. But God bless
him for not just being another cog in the musical wheel."
-- James McSweeney, Flyin Shoes

"Brine writes wonderful story songs about ordinary people
and ordinary places. To tell these stories, Mark has a voice that is
as comfortable as a favourite coat."
-- Pete Smith, Country Music Round Up
"I think what makes Mark Brine such
a gifted songwriter/storyteller is the fact that he seems to be such an
obvious fan of many genres of music. He's someone who is like a sponge
when it comes to reintegrating influences into his own work."
-- Gail Worley,
Ink 19
"His career has pursued the path of a truly independent artist -
someone who follows his soul and does things his own way
his ability
to write and produce has made his name synonymous with quality."
